Merchant Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Trendgo collects from merchants and their staff, why we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Privacy Policy for Food and Retail Merchants

This policy applies to merchants and their authorised employees who use the Trendgo merchant app and dashboards to manage orders and run their store.

1 Who we are and scope

Trendgo for Land Transport ("Trendgo", "we") operates a platform that connects merchants, customers and delivery partners in the Syrian Arab Republic. This policy covers the data we handle when you use the merchant app and dashboards.

Roles: we are responsible for the data we use to run the platform (account management, fraud prevention, support, analytics, settlements and security). Each merchant is responsible for its own employee data, product listings, inventory and order fulfilment. Some service providers, such as map and communication providers, may also handle data under their own terms.

2 The data we collect

Merchant and employee data:

  • Name and business details, phone number, email address, usernames, hashed passwords and permissions.
  • Store address and map location, opening hours, menus, products, prices and stock.
  • Order events with timestamps and reasons (accept, reject, cancel), complaints and refunds.
  • Business verification documents and, where required, a photo or ID of authorised staff.
  • Settlement account and invoice details, if payouts are handled through Trendgo.
  • Device information (device ID, system and app version, crash logs), support tickets and messages.
  • Content of in-app chats and calls, and recordings where permitted by law.

From customers and delivery drivers about your store:

  • Order details (items and amounts), delivery or pick-up time, limited contact options, and ratings or reviews.

Location and maps:

  • Address lookup, route calculation, arrival times and distances are handled by map providers, which receive the queries needed to provide these features.

3 Why we process data

  • Providing the service: verifying accounts, showing and managing orders, setting preparation and arrival times, support, payments and settlements, and keeping the app secure and fast.
  • Trust, safety and fraud prevention: identity and business verification, sanctions checks, detecting unusual activity, linking disputes and refunds, and risk assessments that may affect access to features, settlements or account status. You can ask for a human review of such decisions.
  • Legal obligations: accounting and tax, anti-fraud and anti-money-laundering duties, and responding to lawful requests.
  • Legitimate interests: keeping the platform reliable, improving our products, analytics, and in-app tips tailored to your business.
  • Consent (where required): some marketing messages, non-essential cookies or tracking tools, and optional features.

4 How we use the data

We use data to run the app and dashboards, let you accept or reject orders and set preparation times, share the minimum details needed with drivers and customers, detect and prevent fraud, provide support, produce analytics (using anonymous or aggregated data where possible), meet compliance and audit requirements, and train our teams and systems to improve quality.

5 Sharing data

We do not sell personal data. We share it only when necessary, with:

  • Customers and drivers: limited details to complete orders (store name and location, required order content, and hidden contact options where available).
  • Service providers: hosting, payment, SMS/email/voice, maps and analytics, customer-support tools, and identity or business-verification services.
  • Payment partners and banks: to process customer payments and merchant settlements.
  • Affiliates and corporate transactions: to operate the platform or as part of a restructuring, merger or acquisition.
  • Legal and safety purposes: to comply with the law, enforce our terms, protect rights and safety, and investigate suspected fraud or abuse.

6 International transfers

Data may be processed in other countries. When we transfer data abroad we apply suitable contractual, regulatory and technical safeguards and share only what is necessary.

7 Data retention

  • Account and verification data: for the life of the account plus 3 to 7 years for audit purposes.
  • Orders and settlements: as required by accounting and tax rules.
  • Support and security records: for reasonable periods needed for operations and fraud defence.
  • Where an investigation is ongoing or a claim is possible, we may keep relevant evidence until it is closed or the legal limitation period ends.

8 Your choices and rights

Under applicable law you may have the right to access, correct, delete and transfer your data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent where we rely on it (without affecting earlier processing). You can manage notifications and certain tracking preferences in the settings where available. Some requests may be routed through the main business entity. To make a request, email us at the address below; we reply within one month.

9 Security

We apply suitable administrative, technical and physical measures, including encryption of sensitive data in transit and at rest, role-based access control, minimum necessary permissions, monitoring and incident response. You are responsible for protecting your login details, managing your employees' access and securing your devices and networks.

10 Cookies and SDKs

We use cookies and software development kits (SDKs) for essential functions (sign-in, load balancing), preferences, analytics, crash reporting and, with consent where required, marketing measurement and personalised tips. Some partners may handle limited data under their own notices.

11 Children

The merchant app is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the legal working age.

12 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect operational, legal or regulatory changes. We will notify you in the app or by email before material changes take effect. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the update.
